In addition, the association resolved to confer the title of 'Honorary President' upon former president Heung-seok Park, who has led the association and dedicated himself to the hospital’s development for the past 20 years.
The 29th regular board meeting was held on the afternoon of March 18 in the executive meeting room on the first floor of the Biomedical Research Institute at Chonnam National University Hospital. The meeting was attended by 20 out of 29 directors, including ex officio directors such as Shin Jeong, Director of Chonnam National University Hospital; Kyungchul Yoon, Deputy Director of Medical Affairs; Sungpil Joo, policy chief; Jaeyoung Han, Head of External Cooperation (who also served as secretary); as well as appointed directors such as Chi-young Park, Chairman of Moa General Construction Co., Ltd.; Jeong Heo, Director of Eden Hospital; Eung-seo Kim, Chairman of Namhae General Development; and Cheolhong Park, Chairman of Goldclass.
At the board meeting, key agenda items were reviewed and approved, including: the approval of the 2025 settlement of accounts and the 2026 budget proposal; publication of a white paper commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Development Supporters Association; adjustment of the parking benefits criteria for donor members; and the introduction of additional donation kiosks.
In particular, the '20th Anniversary Commemorative White Paper', which will be published to mark the association’s 20th anniversary, will systematically document the association’s history and utilize the accumulated data for future follow-up management and promotional activities. Furthermore, as the culture of small-sum donations has taken root through the operation of existing donation kiosks, the association plans to introduce additional kiosks to further enhance convenience for donors.
During the subsequent executive appointments, the board elected Director Chi-young Park (Chairman of Moa General Construction Co., Ltd.) as the second president, and appointed Kwang-chul Cho, Chairman of Cobico Co., Ltd., as a new director. The board expressed deep gratitude for the contributions of Heung-seok Park, who, as the founding president, laid the foundation for the Development Supporters Association at Chonnam National University Hospital and led the achievement of the highest donation amount in its history, officially conferring upon him the title of Honorary President.
Newly appointed President Chi-young Park stated, “While I feel a great sense of responsibility in taking on this important role, I will do my utmost to carry on the vision of the Honorary President and the board members, supporting Chonnam National University Hospital in becoming a newsmart hospital that leads the future of medicine.”
