Seoul City Launches Online Platform to Disclose All Rapid Integrated Planning Information from Selection to Completion
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on March 26 that it will release the "Sintong Planning Online Archive," an online platform that allows for easy access to information related to the Rapid Integrated Planning (Sintong Planning) initiative.
This platform will go live on March 27, encompassing the entire Sintong Planning process from site selection to planning completion.
Sintong Planning is a public urban redevelopment support plan in which residents, experts, and the city government collaborate to shorten redevelopment procedures and accelerate project timelines through site-specific, customized planning. First introduced in 2021, Sintong Planning has since been legislated and is now being expanded nationwide.
Until now, information related to Sintong Planning could only be partially accessed through the city’s official website, the Urban Space Portal, and the Urban Redevelopment Information Center. However, as these channels primarily focused on policy introductions, it was difficult to comprehensively understand the planning details for each site.
While planning details had been communicated through resident meetings, information sessions, and press releases, these methods provided only one-off information due to limitations of time and location, making it challenging for citizens to access information at any time.
To address this, the city opened the "Housing Policy Communication Center" at the Seoul Hall of Urbanism & Architecture in February, strengthening offline promotional efforts.
The newly released Sintong Planning Online Archive will systematically organize and provide the planning intent, implementation status, detailed information, and participant data for all 87 sites directly planned and completed by the city.
In particular, the archive is designed to make it easier to understand the planning details for each site by providing video content alongside the information. The city plans to continuously update the archive with new content as the planning for additional sites is completed in the future.
The archive consists of four categories: ▲Sintong Planning News ▲Policy Information ▲Site Archive ▲Resource Room.
Taking into account the growing public interest in Sintong Planning, the city plans to expand its content continuously, starting with the launch of this online archive.
Ahn Daehee, Head of the Urban Space Headquarters at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, stated, "As Sintong Planning is being actively implemented throughout Seoul, we will make the planning details for each site available in real time through the archive as soon as they are completed, and continuously update the system with improvements. Our goal is to enable anyone to easily access Sintong Planning information anytime, anywhere, thereby enhancing public understanding and participation, and realizing an urban housing policy based on two-way communication."
