[2026 Asset Disclosure] Labor Minister Kim Younghoon Reports 1.38 Billion Won in Assets...Up by 62 Million Won
Kim Younghoon, Minister of Employment and Labor, reported total assets of 1,376,890,000 won. This represents an increase of 62,460,000 won compared to the previous year.
According to the regular disclosure of asset changes published in the official gazette by the Government Officials Ethics Committee on March 26, the total assets reported by Minister Kim increased from 1,314,220,000 won to 1,376,890,000 won.
By asset category, land assets amount to approximately 207,800,000 won, consisting of rice paddies and fields in the Changwon area of South Gyeongsang Province. Real estate, which includes an apartment in Busanjin-gu, a detached house in Changwon, and a jeonse (lump-sum rental deposit) right in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, accounts for the largest proportion at approximately 994,000,000 won.
Automobiles and related assets are valued at 4,330,000 won, with Minister Kim owning a 2006 Jaguar. Deposits total 340,530,000 won, representing a decrease from the previous year's 538,000,000 won. Most of the deposits are in Minister Kim’s name, with a portion held under the names of his mother and eldest son. The decrease is attributed to the use of funds for jeonse deposits and related purposes.
Newly reported liabilities amount to 170,000,000 won, reflecting a building rental debt arising from the deposit for a leased apartment in Busan.

Real estate, including the jeonse right for an apartment in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province and an apartment in Suwon, amounts to approximately 1,405,000,000 won. Automobiles and related assets total approximately 28,310,000 won, including a vehicle registered in his spouse’s name.
Deposits have increased significantly to 886,070,000 won, with balances rising under the names of Vice Minister Kwon, his spouse, and their children. Securities holdings grew to a total of 395,780,000 won. Both Vice Minister Kwon and his spouse own both listed and unlisted domestic and overseas stocks, with a portion also registered in their children’s names.
