Man in His 40s Arrested for Setting Fire to Garbage Pile Near Villa in Incheon
10 Residents, Including a Woman in Her 50s, Suffer Smoke Inhalation
A man in his 40s was apprehended by police after setting fire to a pile of garbage near a villa in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon.
According to Yonhap News on March 24, the Incheon Gyeyang Police Station announced that the man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, was arrested on charges including arson of an inhabited building.
Mr. A is accused of setting fires to piles of garbage and the cargo of a truck near a villa in Hyoseong-dong, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, at around 4:31 a.m. on March 21. As a result of the fire, 10 nearby residents, including a woman in her 50s, inhaled smoke.
The fire authorities, who responded to the report, extinguished the blaze within 13 minutes. Police apprehended Mr. A at a motel on the same day. At the time of his arrest, Mr. A was reportedly intoxicated.

During police questioning, he stated that he "does not remember well." Police plan to refer Mr. A to the prosecution after further investigation.
