The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi explained Iran's position regarding the navigation standards in the Strait of Hormuz during a phone call with Foreign Minister Cho Hyun.
On the 24th, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that Minister Araghchi spoke with Minister Cho on the 23rd, and during the conversation, said, "The Strait of Hormuz is closed to vessels belonging to the aggressor bloc and their supporters and sponsors." Iran refers to the United States and Israel as the aggressors.
Minister Araghchi added, however, that "vessels from other countries will have no problem passing through the strait as long as they coordinate with Iran."
He also asserted that "the United States and the Zionist regime carried out a military attack against Iran during the nuclear negotiations," claiming that the current instability in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz is a direct result of such illegal aggression.
