The girl group Baby Don't Cry has returned with their first mini album, "After Cry."
On the afternoon of March 24, Baby Don't Cry kicked off their activities by holding a showcase at Woori WON Banking Hall, Blue Square, in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Leader Lee Hyuni introduced this album as "the first part of the 'Tears Trilogy,'" explaining, "It captures the journey leading up to shedding tears and the process of reaching those tears." Benny expressed her excitement, saying, "It's our comeback after four months since 'I Don't Care,' so the members and I prepared very hard. You will definitely feel our unique energy."
The strong support of Psy, the CEO of their agency P Nation, was also revealed. Benny shared, "CEO Psy put a lot of effort into this mini album. I have a feeling that all five tracks will do well. His advice to practice diligently and take responsibility gave us great strength."
The title track, "Bittersweet," is a song that blends bittersweet yet sweet memories over an upbeat sound. Hitmaker producer Ryan Jhun and lyricist Kim Eana participated, enhancing the album's quality. Lee Hyuni explained, "When I recall painful times, I realize those moments made me who I am today, and I am grateful for them. This is a song that evokes nostalgia for everyone."
They also shared behind-the-scenes stories from the music video shoot. Kumi recalled, "We filmed a scene where I had to cry at the Han River early in the morning, and it was so cold that real tears came out." Benny added, "At first, I felt embarrassed to film a scene where I was wailing, but with the director's help, I was able to focus."
