Kyobo Life Insurance Launches Tailored Financial Education for Financially Vulnerable Groups
Supporting Financial Accessibility and Crime Prevention for Students with Disabilities
Aligned with the Government's Inclusive Finance Policy
Targeting Over 100 Students at 10 Schools and Institutions Nationwide by Year-End
Kyobo Life Insurance announced on the 24th that it has launched tailored financial education programs to support smooth financial activities for students with disabilities, who are considered a financially vulnerable group.
This financial education initiative was established to align with the government's policy of inclusive and mutually beneficial finance. It aims to improve financial accessibility for vulnerable groups and prevent the spread of financial crimes such as voice phishing.
On March 19, Kyobo Life Insurance began its first financial education session of the year for students in special needs classes at Gwanak High School, located in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Rather than a one-time event, this program will be carried out over nine months until December in partnership with the non-profit organization JA Korea. It will target 10 special education schools and related institutions nationwide and benefit over 100 students.
The main curriculum includes experiential financial education using customized textbooks, establishing personal budgeting and credit/risk management, and setting employment goals and designing life plans based on earned income. In particular, to maximize the effectiveness of the program, Kyobo Life Insurance is strengthening pre-communication with school teachers and assigning specialized instructors who have a deep understanding of the characteristics of students with disabilities.
