Gurye Veterans in Their 80s Pilgrimage to Vietnam Battlefields
Over 40 Members of the Agent Orange Veterans Association Honor Fallen Comrades in Da Nang
Veterans in their 80s who participated in the Vietnam War in the 1960s visited the battlefields where they once fought, holding a pilgrimage event to honor their fallen comrades and raise awareness of national security.
About 40 members of the Gurye branch of the Korea Agent Orange Veterans Association (led by Lee Euljae) visited the Da Nang area in central Vietnam for five days from March 9, 2026, retracing the footsteps of their fellow soldiers.
Veterans in their 80s who participated in the Vietnam War visited the fierce battlegrounds from that time, honoring their comrades who passed away and promoting security awareness through a tour of Vietnam War historical sites. Provided by Gurye County
View original imageThe pilgrimage group visited key battle sites and historical locations, including the 5th Corps Command War Museum and Hai Van Trenches, reminiscing about their days of service and paying tribute to the memory of comrades who passed away.
They also toured local administrative and cultural facilities such as the city hall, Youngheungsa Temple, and the Pink Cathedral, strengthening their bond and reflecting on the importance of peace.
Chairman Lee Euljae said, "By revisiting these sites with comrades who shared both hardship and joy, we were able to once again reflect on the meaning of national defense and veterans’ honor. We will continue to do our best to promote the value of our country and contribute to the development of the local community through our association’s activities."
