Veterans and Newcomers in Harmony... Rising as a Regional Hub
Growth Solidified Through Hands-On Coaching
Dongyang Life Insurance's Daegu branch is emerging as a key hub for strengthening the competitiveness of its exclusive sales channel, driven by stable organizational expansion. The branch is recognized for achieving both quantitative and qualitative growth through its community-based training system and organizational management capabilities, demonstrating the effectiveness of its field-oriented sales strategy.
According to the insurance industry on March 24, Dongyang Life Insurance's Daegu branch has continued to expand its workforce steadily since the second half of last year. As of now, the branch has a total of 52 affiliated planners, an increase of 19 compared to May of last year. Notably, 24 new planners have been appointed over the past eight months alone.
This quantitative growth has translated into improved sales performance. As of January this year, the Daegu branch’s monthly first-year premium for protection-type insurance nearly doubled compared to the same period last year. In particular, the branch’s target achievement rate rose from 104.8% in 2024 to 117.6% in the second half of 2025, reflecting robust qualitative growth as well.
At the core of this growth is a localized training system. The 'Insurance School,' operated in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions based on a strong brand reputation, serves as an effective channel for delivering professional knowledge and career vision to prospective planners. Additionally, managers provide daily hands-on coaching and meticulous activity management, establishing a virtuous cycle that enables new planners to settle in quickly.
The harmony between generations, built on a solid training system, further strengthens the branch's organizational capabilities. The Daegu branch currently has 14 veteran planners who have been active for over 100 months. Among them, five have worked at Dongyang Life Insurance for over 30 years and are known as 'living legends.' The wealth of experience they bring combines with the passion of new planners to create synergy.
The leadership of branch manager Ha Minsoo has also played a significant role in reinforcing the branch’s organizational foundation. Since his appointment last year, Ha has prioritized a 'self-directed sales culture' as the branch’s core value. Planners are encouraged to analyze their weekly activities and review their work processes, leading to increased productivity. At the branch level, product and practical training sessions are provided twice a week to continuously support field expertise.
