Yeongam County Expands Housing Support for Youth
Up to 200,000 Won in Monthly Rent and Housing Support for Young Workers
Yeongam County in South Jeolla Province is expanding its housing support projects to ease the housing cost burden for young people and help them settle in the region.
The county announced that it will implement both the "Youth Monthly Rent Support Project" and the "Youth Employed Residents Housing Support Project."
The Youth Monthly Rent Support Project targets single-person households aged 19 to 49 residing in Yeongam County. Young people without a home who have a household income at or below 150% of the median income, live in a rental property with a deposit of 100 million won or less and a monthly rent of 600,000 won or less, are eligible to apply. Selected recipients will receive up to 100,000 won per month in rent support for up to 12 months.
The Youth Employed Residents Housing Support Project is aimed at young workers or business owners aged 18 to 45. Applicants must be without a home, have a household income at or below 150% of the median income, and reside in a property with a jeonse loan of 50 million won or more or a monthly rent of 600,000 won or less. Selected recipients will receive up to 200,000 won per month in housing support for up to 12 months.
Applications for both projects can be submitted in person at the local Eup or Myeon Administrative Welfare Centers until March 27. Recipients will be selected based on a review of income level and eligibility requirements.
Kim Sunmi, Head of Population and Youth Affairs at Yeongam County, stated, "We will continue to implement various housing support policies so that young people can settle in the region with a stable living environment."
