Discussions on Strengthening Cooperation for Building a Global Open AI Ecosystem and Promoting Regional AI Transformation
The Blue House announced that Im Moonyeong, Vice Chairman of the National AI Strategy Committee, and Ha Jeongwoo, Senior Secretary for AI and Future Planning at the Blue House, met with Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, who is visiting Korea on March 19. During the meeting, they discussed ways to achieve mutually beneficial, win-win AI cooperation between Korea and AMD.

View original imageAt the meeting, Vice Chairman Im and Senior Secretary Ha introduced Korea's strategy to become one of the top three global leaders in AI by building a nationwide AI highway, and listened to CEO Su's assessment and the outcomes of her visit to Korea.
CEO Su reportedly expressed her satisfaction with the strengthened collaboration between AMD and Korean AI companies as a result of this trip. Both sides agreed to expand public-private cooperation so that more Korean companies can generate synergies within AMD's open AI ecosystem, building on the current successful cooperation model.
In addition, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on strengthening Korea's global AI competitiveness and supporting the digital transformation of regional industries through AI. They reached a consensus on the importance of AI transformation (AX) for regional industries, such as building data centers for balanced regional development, and explored multifaceted cooperation measures, including joint training and development of AI software talent and collaborative research linked to the "K-Moonshot" initiative.
