According to Dong-gu Office in Gwangju and other local sources, at around 12:27 p.m. on March 19, a report was received regarding ground subsidence on the first lane of a one-way road near the Geumnam-ro 5-ga intersection in Dong-gu, Gwangju.
Upon inspection, the sinkhole was found to be approximately 20 centimeters wide and 40 centimeters deep. To prevent further accidents, authorities immediately restricted access to the area, temporarily covered the damaged road with a steel plate, and then resumed vehicle traffic after completing the emergency measure.
