Wando Police Station in South Jeolla Province announced on March 19 that it has opened the "Election Crime Investigation Situation Room" in preparation for the upcoming 9th Nationwide Local Elections, officially launching its full-scale election security operations.
The police station held a signboard unveiling ceremony for the Election Crime Investigation Situation Room the previous day. The situation room will operate under a dedicated 24-hour response system for 85 days until June 10. The police plan to significantly strengthen intelligence gathering on illegal election activities and to respond swiftly and strictly to any violations related to the election.
