"Overcoming High Oil Prices and Strong Exchange Rate" Buk-gu Launches Tailored Support for SMEs
Support for SMEs with Annual Sales of 12 Billion Won or Less
Promoting Housing Stability for Workers and More
Buk-gu District of Gwangju Metropolitan City is launching tailored support measures for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) struggling due to external economic instability, including high oil prices and a strong exchange rate. The support will cover everything from environmental improvements to expanding market access.
According to Buk-gu District on March 18, the district will begin full-scale implementation of three support programs this month: ▲Dormitory rental support for workers ▲Workplace safety and environmental improvement support ▲Online marketing support. These initiatives have been designed to enhance the competitiveness of SMEs, promote local job creation, and revitalize the regional economy.
The "Dormitory Rental Support Program for Workers" provides up to 300,000 won per month to help stabilize housing for SME employees. The program targets SMEs located in Buk-gu with annual sales of 12 billion won or less, and the rented accommodation must be contracted in the employer's name.
The "Workplace Safety and Environmental Improvement Support Program" aims to prevent industrial accidents and improve operational efficiency by subsidizing costs for eliminating hazards and installing safety equipment. Manufacturing companies with at least three regular employees and annual sales of 12 billion won or less are eligible to apply, and up to 7.5 million won per company will be reimbursed after implementation.
There is also an "Online Marketing Support Program" to help companies develop new markets. For businesses that manufacture or distribute general consumer goods, about 20 social media reviewers will be assigned to promote product reviews. Companies previously selected as "Buk-gu Company of the Month" will receive additional points when eligibility for support is determined.
Companies wishing to participate can check the notices on the Buk-gu District Office website or contact the Buk-gu SME Support Division for more information.
