Gyeonggi Province Unification+ Center to Operate Youth Peace and Unification Field Experience Program
Unification Field Experience Program for Youth in Gyeonggi Province
First-Come, First-Served Registration for Schools and Youth Organizations Until March 20
Visits to Historical and Unification Sites Across Seven Regions in Northern Gyeonggi, Including Paju and Yeoncheon
The Gyeonggi Province Unification+ Center will operate the “2026 Youth Peace and Unification Field Experience Program.”
The program is designed to help elementary, middle, and high school students understand the history and culture of both South and North Korea through hands-on activities, and to reflect on the meaning of peace and unification. Schools and youth organizations interested in participating will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and the program will run approximately 50 times from June to December. About 30 students can participate in each session, and up to 100 students from each school or organization may apply.
The program consists of hands-on activities offered at the Gyeonggi Province Unification+ Center in Uijeongbu, as well as regional field trips. At the center, participants can choose from one of ten hands-on programs, including a unification quiz contest, making unification wish bracelets, peace-themed plaster air fresheners, and unification wish badges.
The field trip program allows participants to visit historical and unification-related sites across seven regions in the northern part of Gyeonggi Province, including Paju, Yeoncheon, and Yangju/Dongducheon, providing an experiential learning opportunity about the history of division and the value of peace.
In particular, students will have opportunities to experience the meaning of peace and unification in various ways through a one-day program that combines museum tours, hands-on craft activities, and visits to historical sites related to unification.
Applications can be submitted by March 20 via official document or email. Only one application form needs to be submitted. As registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, early application is recommended for interested schools and organizations.
Jeoncheol, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Unification+ Center (Head of the Peace Infrastructure Department at Gyeonggi Province), said, “We have prepared a variety of programs to allow young people to directly see and experience the meaning of peace and unification. We hope for the active interest and participation of schools and youth organizations in the province.”
