During the meeting, field workers proposed several practical demands to improve their welfare, including the implementation of a wage system that reflects the risk level rather than being based solely on simple labor, the guarantee of continued employment and seniority transfer when contractors are changed, the recruitment of additional personnel and equipment, and the improvement of rest areas.
Myeong emphasized, "Household waste collection and transportation workers perform essential public work and do not shy away from difficult and dangerous tasks," adding, "It is unreasonable that the current wage system treats these high-intensity field workers as 'simple labor.' I am committed to reforming this system."
