Jindo County Holds Entrance Ceremony for Eco-friendly Farmers University
60 Students Enroll in Organic Farming and Chrysanthemum Industry Courses
Jindo County in South Jeolla Province held the entrance ceremony for the Eco-friendly Farmers University to foster professional farmers.
The county announced that it recently held the entrance ceremony for the 19th Eco-friendly Farmers University at the Agricultural Technology Center's main auditorium, attended by Kim Heesoo, the Mayor of Jindo County, members of the Jindo County Council, and approximately 60 new students.
The Eco-friendly Farmers University is an educational program designed to train professional agricultural managers needed for the region's specialized agricultural development. Since its launch in 2008, a total of 1,167 graduates have completed the program as of last year, contributing to the advancement of local agriculture.
This year, the curriculum includes courses on organic farming and chrysanthemum industry research. The 60 selected trainees will complete a total of 45 sessions and 180 hours of both theoretical and practical instruction by October.
The trainees, including the student representative, expressed their determination to participate diligently in the program without dropping out, aiming to become key talents who will lead high value-added agriculture.
The county plans to nurture eco-friendly organic farming and regionally specialized crops as core sectors of sustainable agriculture through this training.
