Kim Janghoon Visits Somang House, Facility for Severely Disabled
Donates 30 Million Won for Surgery of 2-Month-Old Infant
"17-Year-Old Daughter... My Dream Is to Walk Her Down the Aisle"
Singer Kim Janghoon has revealed the full story behind past news articles about his so-called 'hidden daughter'.
On the March 14 broadcast of MBN's 'Sokpuli Show Dongchimi,' Kim Janghoon said, "I ended up with a daughter because I couldn't say no." He explained, "I was asked to attend a rice donation ceremony at Somang House, a facility for people with severe disabilities. Although I have a rule to only support places I can consistently help, they kept asking, so in the end, I went there with kimchi and a donation." Somang House is known as a facility caring for about 30 people with severe disabilities.
Kim Janghoon said, "While I was there, I heard someone say, 'This child has to die.' There was an infant, just two months old, who would die without surgery. I thought to myself, 'No, I can't save everyone,' and tried to ignore it, pretending not to hear, but I just couldn't walk away." He continued, "Eventually, on my way home, I turned the car around and went back to the facility. I decided to cover the surgery cost of 50 million won and asked the hospital to perform the surgery on credit."
He added, "For the hospital administration, it must have sounded unreasonable. Still, I said, 'I'm Kim Janghoon—do you really think I won't pay?' and pleaded for them to save the child. The hospital was very generous. They said it could be done for 30 million won, so I arranged the funds. The remaining 10 million won was sent to the facility."

She calls me 'dad'." He continued, "I try not to give her expectations out of fear she might be disappointed or hurt, so I visit from time to time without a set schedule. My dream is to one day walk her down the aisle when she gets married."
Meanwhile, Kim Janghoon is known as one of the entertainment industry's leading 'donation angels.' His cumulative donations reportedly exceed 20 billion won. In a recent interview on 'Park Myungsoo's Radio Show,' he revealed that his current assets consist of a 30 million won deposit and about 2 million won in his bank account, and that he lives in a rented home with no house or car in his name. Nonetheless, he said, "Even so, I don't feel anxious—I'm actually happy."

In January, Kim Janghoon appeared on Sean's YouTube channel and said, "For now, my donation goal is set at 2 trillion won. I think that's what it will take to solve the problem of undernourished children. I plan to continue giving for the rest of my life—not just money, but in many different forms." He emphasized, "'Absolute happiness' can only be found in sharing. Music is not 'absolute happiness.' I am grateful to the point that I would have no regrets even if I died now."
