Jeong Heeyong, a member of the National Assembly (People Power Party, Goryeong County, Seongju County, Chilgok County in North Gyeongsang Province), inspected the earthquake situation at Seongju County Office on March 14 and urged thorough follow-up measures, including aftershock response.

View original imageAt around 9:00 a.m. on March 14, a magnitude 2.6 earthquake occurred in the Yongam-myeon area of Seongju County. As of 11:00 a.m., no earthquake damage has been reported. However, as the Korea Meteorological Administration announced, "Residents in areas near the earthquake epicenter may feel the tremor and should exercise caution for safety," a proactive response is required to prevent any harm to residents.
Immediately after the earthquake, Assemblyman Jeong Heeyong visited Seongju County Office, where he jointly inspected the situation with Lee Byeonghwan, Mayor of Seongju County, provincial and county council members, and relevant officials. He called for thorough aftershock response, strengthening of the pre-earthquake response manual, and inspection of the resident notification system.

Assemblyman Jeong emphasized, "Safety authorities such as Seongju County and Seongju Fire Station must continuously monitor the situation so that local residents can feel reassured and prevent any possible damage." He added, "Since earthquakes are difficult to predict in advance, it is essential to establish a preemptive and comprehensive response system."
