Police Refer Former Capital Defense Commander Jinwoo Lee to Prosecution for Perjury in Yoon Impeachment Trial
"I never received instructions to block the resolution to lift martial law"
The police have referred Jinwoo Lee, former Commanding General of the Capital Defense Command, to the prosecution on charges of perjury. He is accused of falsely testifying that he did not receive instructions from then-President Yoon Sukyeol to prevent the National Assembly from passing a resolution to lift martial law during the state of emergency.
The Special Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency announced on the 12th that Jinwoo Lee has been referred without detention.

At the time, he also testified that he understood former Defense Minister Kim Yonghyun’s order to "go to the National Assembly" as an operational command, and stated, "There was no room to consider it illegal or unconstitutional."
