BC Card Revamps Financial Big Data Platform with Generative AI Integration
First in the Financial Sector to Be Designated as Innovative Financial Service
AI Provides Analysis Results Based on Previous Month's Data
Up to 50 Free Searches Per Day
On March 12, BC Card announced that it has revamped its existing big data platform into the "AI Financial Big Data Platform" by integrating generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The Financial Big Data Platform is part of a national big data platform project established in 2019 by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency (NIA) to foster the big data ecosystem and support data-driven innovative growth. BC Card has been the sole operator in the financial sector.
With this renewal, the platform has been upgraded from a traditional search-and-purchase model to an advanced system that enables one-stop data search, analysis, and automatic report generation using generative AI technology.
When users search for required data in natural language, the AI analyzes the query based on the previous month's consumption data, floating population data, and external trends. The AI presents results in both natural language explanations and visualizations, with up to 50 free searches available per day.
By utilizing the newly introduced "Datafolio" feature, users can customize and design the data they need by selecting specific conditions such as period, region, and business sector.
The renewal also includes new features such as "AI Insights," which analyzes and provides the latest social issues and trends based on data, and "AI Reports," which automatically visualizes data results.
With this upgrade, individual members can easily access data needed for research and academic papers through AI-powered natural language searches on the platform. Additionally, they can receive trend information based on national payment data through the monthly updated "AI Commercial Area Analysis Report."
In particular, corporate members can now conveniently handle processes such as electronic contracts and tax invoices—previously processed through BC Card—directly within the platform.
