Guidance on Studying Abroad and Pusan National University Degree Programs
The Office of International Affairs at Pusan National University (Director: Lee Changhwan) held an online admission briefing session for Thai middle and high school students, providing information on studying in Korea and enrolling in degree programs at Pusan National University.
Pusan National University announced on the 12th that it hosted the 'Pusan National University Online Admission Briefing Session' via an online video conference platform on the 10th, with around 80 Thai students participating.
This session was organized as part of the RISE (Regional Innovation-centered University Support System) project, aiming to introduce Thai students to the university's educational environment and admissions process, and to enhance their understanding of studying in Korea. In particular, the Korean Education Center in Thailand (Director: Park Sungha) supported the promotion of the event to local students, helping to encourage their participation.
During the session, congratulatory video messages from Choi Jaewon, President of Pusan National University, and Park Yongmin, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand, were played. The university also introduced the 'STEM Competition,' which is scheduled to be held at Pusan National University this year following preliminary rounds in Thailand, as part of efforts to attract outstanding students in science and engineering fields.
The event consisted of two parts. In the first part, participants received essential information about pursuing a degree at Pusan National University, including an introduction to the university, a guide to the international admissions process, and experiences shared by current students. Notably, Thai students currently enrolled at Pusan National University participated directly, offering practical insights into academics and campus life, as well as the process of preparing for study abroad and university life. They provided counseling in Thai, responding to questions about admission preparation, choosing a major, and living in Korea, which helped students deepen their understanding.
The second part featured a Q&A session on major departments, such as the Department of Korean Language and Literature and the Department of Business Administration, as well as the Korean language training program. Customized counseling was also provided through online breakout rooms, allowing students to gain more detailed information about selecting majors and preparing to study abroad.
Participating students showed great interest by actively asking questions about each department's curriculum, how to prepare for admissions, Korean language proficiency requirements, and scholarship programs.
