RBW Acquires X-Love and 257 Entertainment
RBW announced on March 11 that its subsidiary, WM Entertainment, has recently signed a comprehensive business transfer agreement with 257 Entertainment and has begun the post-merger integration (PMI) process.
Under this agreement, WM Entertainment comprehensively acquired all of 257 Entertainment's intellectual property (IP) assets, exclusive management rights to its affiliated artists, and the entirety of its business, including all executives and employees. RBW plans to accelerate its overseas market expansion by adding the group X-Love (XLOV) to its lineup.
X-Love, which debuted in January last year, is composed of four members: Umuti, Rui, Hyun, and Haru. They are the first male K-pop idol group to pursue a 'genderless' concept, removing gender distinctions.
Jinwoo Kim, CEO of RBW, said, "We highly value the creative capabilities of 257 Entertainment," and added, "By combining the business foundations and know-how of RBW, DSP Media, and WM Entertainment, we will create a powerful synergy."
Jaeyong Park, CEO of 257 Entertainment, stated, "Through this collaboration, we will be able to expand K-pop trends to the global stage even more rapidly."
