People Power Party Nominates Yoo Jungbok as Sole Candidate for Incheon Mayor
PPP Nomination Committee: "Mayor Yoo, a Leader Who Has Prepared for Incheon's Future"
Yoo Jung-bok, Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City, has been nominated as the People Power Party's candidate for Mayor of Incheon in the upcoming June 3 local elections.
The Central Party Nomination Management Committee for the 9th Local Elections of the People Power Party confirmed and announced this sole nomination on March 11, 2026. Earlier in the morning, Choi Min-ho, Mayor of Sejong Special Self-Governing City, was nominated as the sole candidate for Mayor of Sejong in the first round, followed by Mayor Yoo as the second sole nomination.
The committee stated, "Mayor Yoo is a leading administrator of South Korea who has accumulated extensive experience in both central and local government, serving as Mayor of Incheon, Minister of the Interior and Safety, Member of the National Assembly, and Mayor of Gimpo." The committee also evaluated him as "a leader who understands Incheon more deeply than anyone else and has systematically prepared for its future."

The committee continued, "We determined that Mayor Yoo is the most stable and capable figure to strongly drive Incheon's future development strategy," adding, "We have finalized the nomination of candidate Yoo, who possesses experience, proven achievements, and a clear vision for the future. We will work together with candidate Yoo for Incheon's greater advancement."
