Vehicle Fire in Yeongsan, Changnyeong ... Driver in His 60s Suffers Burns

View original imageAt around 8:14 p.m. on March 10, a fire broke out in a sport utility vehicle (SUV) parked in an open area next to a reservoir in Yeongsan-myeon, Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province.
As a result of the fire, the driver, a man in his 60s identified as Mr. A, suffered second-degree burns on the back of his hand while attempting to extinguish the fire himself and was transported to a hospital.
The burning vehicle also resulted in property damage estimated at approximately 2.5 million won, according to the fire department's assessment.
Upon receiving the report, the fire authorities mobilized 52 personnel and 13 pieces of equipment, and fully extinguished the fire by around 9:50 p.m. that day.

The police and fire authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire, based on Mr. A’s statement that the fire started after he parked the vehicle next to the reservoir and connected a gas cylinder to operate a heated mat.
