Busan Office of Education to Host 8th Education Public Data AI Utilization Contest
AI Usage Vouchers Offered, New Category for Elementary Students Introduced
Discovering Innovative Ideas for Educational Data Utilization
The Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) announced on March 11 that it will hold the "8th Education Public Data AI Utilization Contest" to discover creative ideas that combine educational public data and artificial intelligence (AI).
The "Education Public Data AI Utilization Contest" is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education and 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide. The event aims to raise public interest in educational public data, promote its utilization, and discover practical service ideas that integrate AI technology with educational data.
This year, in particular, the contest will provide participants with AI usage vouchers to lower barriers to using AI. In addition, a new category for creating promotional videos about participants' own schools using AI, which is open to elementary school students, has been newly established, thereby expanding the pool of participants.
The contest consists of three categories: for students, "AI Utilization Idea Planning" and "AI-based Promotional Video Production for Own School," and for the general public, "AI Utilization Idea Planning." Participants can enter individually or as a team of up to three members.
Applications for AI usage vouchers will be accepted from March 16 to April 15, and works can be submitted from May 1 to May 31. After the first and second rounds of judging, a total of 154 teams will be selected to receive prize money and awards. Applications and further details can be found on the contest website.
