On this day, Jung presented the core principles for local election nominations as the 'Four Nos and Four Strengths.' The 'Four Nos' refer to the absence of unfair cut-offs, unqualified candidates, parachute appointments, and corruption. The 'Four Strengths' mean the system will be the most democratic, fair, transparent, and fast, aiming to select the best candidates through these mechanisms.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to completing reforms in the three major sectors: the prosecution, the judiciary, and the media. Jung mentioned the passage of legislation to abolish the Prosecutors’ Office and establish a trial panel for insurrection cases, declaring, "We will ensure that the core principle of fully separating investigation and indictment is not compromised, and will process the relevant bills in the March session of the National Assembly without delay."
Regarding balanced regional development, Jung referenced the administrative integration of Gwangju and Jeonnam, urging discussions on integration in other regions as well. He stated, "The special integrated city is a survival strategy for local areas," and emphasized, "Through administrative integration and region-led growth, we will create a country where there is no unfairness of opportunity, no matter where you live."
