Trump: "U.S. Defense Contractors Agree to Quadruple Top-Tier Weapons Production"
President Donald Trump of the United States announced on March 6 (local time) that American defense contractors have agreed to quadruple the production of top-tier weapons.
On this day, President Trump stated on the social networking service Truth Social, "I just finished a very good meeting to discuss production and production schedules with the largest U.S. defense companies," and shared this news.
President Trump said that CEOs from BAE Systems, Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, L3Harris Missile Solutions, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon attended the meeting.
Previously, spokesperson Caroline Leavitt had stated that President Trump and Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of Defense (Department of War), were scheduled to attend the meeting.
The reason President Trump shared this update is interpreted as an attempt to counter U.S. media reports claiming that America’s ammunition stockpiles are running low amid the ongoing "Majestic Fury" Iranian military operation, which has entered its second week.
President Trump stated, "(Today) the ramp up in production began three months ago, and the operation of factories and production of many weapons is already underway," adding, "We are essentially receiving an unlimited supply of both mid-range and advanced munitions, for example, which are currently being used in Iran and were recently used in Venezuela."
