Samil PwC and Byteworks Partner for AI-Based Solar Power Plant Management
Connecting Operational Data with Accounting and Tax Management
On March 5, Samil PwC announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Byteworks, a renewable energy platform startup, for AI-driven digital transformation and integrated management support in the operation of solar power plants.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to offer the entire solar power plant operation process as a single service. Samil PwC will be responsible for overall financial management, including accounting, tax, settlement, and fund management, while Byteworks will handle plant operation data management, power billing and settlement, and power trading support through its solar operation platform, OSOLAR.
With the adoption of this service, solar power plant operators, special purpose companies (SPCs), institutions, and fund investors will be able to receive integrated support for both plant operation and accounting/tax management. The two companies plan to jointly develop subscription-based platform services and customized products in the future, as well as collaborate on AI-based power demand and electricity price forecasting technologies.
Currently, the domestic solar power plant market is dominated by small and medium-sized operators. As a result, plant owners must handle various work separately, including power trading billing and settlement, the trading of renewable energy certificates (RECs), power generation monitoring, and accounting and tax filing. This has led to significant administrative burdens and persistent concerns about difficulties in financial management and responding to market changes.
