Newbility Unveils Humanoid-Type Service Robot 'Billi'
Combination of Arm, Wheels, and Modular Storage Compartments
Wheel-Based Humanoid Robot Enhances Mobility and Transport Efficiency
Newbility announced on March 5 that it has released a teaser for its "humanoid-type service robot." According to Newbility, this teaser marks the official beginning of its strategy for "the most realistic and fastest commercialization of physical AI," and the company plans to unveil the actual product in stages within the first half of this year.
Newbility's humanoid-type service robot features include: ▲a robotic arm capable of 360-degree rotation ▲a wheel-based drive structure ▲modular, openable storage compartments and shelves. Based on this hardware structure, the robot is designed to perform tasks such as operating buttons for elevators and doors, physically interacting with existing infrastructure like shelves, and directly picking up, loading, and delivering items. Through these capabilities, the robot aims to minimize human intervention during service processes and provide uninterrupted, seamless service.
In particular, the robot enables precise operations such as picking up objects and pressing elevator buttons using its arm and fingers, thereby achieving movements optimized for both indoor and outdoor spaces. This allows for full utilization of existing infrastructure and autonomous navigation without the need for separate facility modifications or changes to building structures.
This is made possible by Newbility's system, which has been developed to recognize and navigate its environment in real time using camera-based recognition technology, instead of relying on expensive LiDAR sensors. The company's delivery and patrol robot, "Neubi," has accumulated operational data from more than 44,000 deployments across over 140 locations nationwide and currently operates more than 300 units both domestically and internationally.

Beginning with the release of this humanoid robot teaser, Newbility plans to enter full-scale commercialization by unveiling the actual product within the first half of the year and expanding its field applications through partnerships in logistics, manufacturing, public, and facility operations. Lee Sangmin, CEO of Newbility, stated, "This humanoid-type service robot marks a significant turning point in Newbility's portfolio, which has focused on practical, work-centered technologies, and serves as a strategic leap to connect the era of physical AI with real market value. We aim to lead the era of universal robot commercialization, where the general public can immediately experience these technologies in their daily lives, going beyond technical aspirations."
