The event was attended by Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, the chairperson of the Goyang Special City Council, district party committee chairs, provincial and city council members, other prominent local figures, and citizens, who celebrated the full opening together.
Haengjunaru IC is an interchange that connects Haengju-ro in Goyang City with the Second Jayuro Road. The entrance ramp toward Seoul (640 meters, one lane) was first opened on January 2, 2025. About a year later, the exit ramp toward Haengjusanseong (654 meters, one lane) was completed, establishing a direct and complete transportation corridor linking the Second Jayuro Road and Haengju-ro.
Since the opening toward Seoul, accessibility from southern districts such as Haengju-dong and Haengsin-dong to Seoul has greatly improved, and the traffic flow on Jayuro and Gangbyeonbuk-ro has become much smoother, according to evaluations.
With the full opening of the entire section, the gateway function connecting Goyang and Seoul will be further strengthened, and the city’s status as a central city in the northwestern metropolitan area is expected to become even more solid.

The city anticipates that shorter commuting times will give citizens more leisure in their daily lives and enhance the city’s competitiveness by attracting businesses and talent.
This project was carried out with the highest priority on safety and stable traffic operation. The city completed preparations such as improving the signal system and inspecting accident-prone areas, and plans to maintain ongoing management even after the opening.
