Policy Direction After the AI Basic Act... AI Governance Academic Conference to Be Held
Discussion on Key Issues in AI Policy, Legislation, and Technology
An academic conference will be held to discuss the government's artificial intelligence policy direction and the establishment of governance following the enforcement of the AI Basic Act.
The Korea Data and Artificial Intelligence Law and Policy Association announced that, on March 6, it will co-host a joint academic conference with the Korea Information and Communication Law Association and Yulchon LLC under the theme "A New Beginning for AI & Communication Governance: The Crossroads of Innovation and Regulation."
Approximately 180 participants from industry, academia, research institutes, and government are expected to attend the event to discuss policy, legal, and technological issues related to AI and communication governance.
In particular, the conference will examine topics such as obligations for ensuring safety under the AI Basic Act—which was fully implemented on January 22 as the world's first comprehensive AI law—the integration of security governance in the communications sector, legal issues surrounding AI-related accidents and liability, and future directions for broadcasting and communications regulations in the era of physical AI.
