Aftermath of U.S. Airstrikes on Iran... Cheong Wa Dae: "NSC Working-Level Committee Convened by Foreign Affairs and Security Ministries"
The Office of the President announced that at 7:00 p.m. on February 28, a National Security Council (NSC) working-level committee meeting would be held, with participation from the ministries in charge of foreign affairs and national security.
The Office of the Spokesperson for the President made this announcement to the media on the same day.
The NSC working-level committee was convened following the attack carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran.
On this day, the Israeli Minister of Defense launched a "preventive strike" against Iran. The targets of the airstrikes were reported to include major Iranian military facilities, government agencies, and intelligence assets.
The Israeli military declared a national state of emergency in preparation for possible retaliation by Iran. Air raid sirens sounded throughout Israel, and it was reported that businesses had closed.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump, immediately after the airstrikes, acknowledged the U.S. attack by posting on Truth Social, "We have just initiated major combat operations inside Iran."
