Suspect's Movements Tracked... Arrested at the Scene in Cooperation with Police
Gyeongsan Police Station Awards Commendation to Control Center Staff Member
The Smart City Control Center of Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyunil) has proven itself a true 'guardian of citizen safety' by playing a decisive role in the arrest of a stalking crime suspect through swift response based on real-time monitoring.
According to Gyeongsan City, at around 10 p.m. on the 19th, when a 112 emergency call related to stalking was received in the Hayang-eup area, control center staff member Choi immediately focused on monitoring nearby CCTV footage in the area, identified the suspect's direction of movement, and tracked the suspect's route in real time.
In particular, although it was difficult to track the suspect because the suspect left the scene after committing the crime, the control center staff member conducted detailed monitoring of multiple nearby CCTVs and worked in close cooperation with the police, which led to the arrest of the suspect at the scene.
The Gyeongsan Police Station awarded a commendation to the staff member on the 25th in recognition of the staff member's contribution to crime prevention and ensuring citizen safety.
