At 9:08 a.m. on the 25th, a ladder truck approximately 60 meters high overturned at an apartment complex in Hwajeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju.
Immediately after the accident, the ladder (boom), which had been extended dozens of meters from the vehicle, fell onto the playground inside the complex. Fortunately, there were no human casualties.
However, as the ladder truck toppled, nearby power lines were severed and electrical facilities were damaged, cutting off electricity to some apartment units and a nearby middle school, and Korea Electric Power Corporation began emergency repairs.
The police and fire authorities believe that the vehicle lost its balance and fell while the moving company was extending the ladder to move household goods.
