Strengthening Thaw-Season Safety through the "Resident Inspection Request System"
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province is conducting safety inspections on 14,618 facilities vulnerable during the thawing season, including steep slopes, retaining walls and cut slopes, and construction sites, from February 23 to April 10.

View original imageThe inspections are being carried out primarily on-site, with private-sector experts jointly checking for potential risk factors such as collapse, toppling, and falling rocks at facilities vulnerable during the thawing season.
If minor issues are found, they will be corrected immediately on-site, while facilities requiring repair or reinforcement, or a detailed safety diagnosis, will be addressed through prompt follow-up measures to ensure safety.
In addition, to minimize blind spots in everyday safety, the province is fully implementing the "Resident Inspection Request System" starting this year, under which local residents can directly report nearby risk factors and request inspections. If thawing-season risk factors are reported through the Safety E-Report system or in person at administrative welfare centers, the person in charge will determine whether they fall within the inspection scope and then carry out an on-site inspection.
