Seongnam City to Subsidize Up to 80% of Flood-Prevention Facility Installation Costs for Heavy Rain Preparedness

Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sangjin) will subsidize up to 80% of the installation costs for flood prevention facilities in order to prevent flooding damage to homes and small businesses in advance during heavy summer rainfall.

View original imageThe support is available for homes and small business stores within the city that are at risk of flooding. When flood prevention facilities such as flood barriers, flood barriers combined with security functions, and backflow prevention devices are installed, detached houses and small business stores can receive support of up to 2 million won, and multi-family housing complexes can receive up to 10 million won.
Owners of buildings, tenants, and representatives of residents in multi-family housing complexes who wish to install such facilities can apply by visiting the relevant department at Seongnam City Hall or the local administrative welfare center. Applications are accepted from February 25 to March 9, 2026, and detailed information is available on the notices and announcements board on the Seongnam City Hall website.
An official from Seongnam City said, "As this project is aimed at protecting the lives and property of citizens from heavy rainfall, we strongly encourage active applications to prevent flood damage."
