Total of 100 Units...50% of Purchase Cost per Bicycle Supported
Wonju City in Gangwon Province is promoting a subsidy program for the purchase of electric bicycles to encourage their wider adoption and use.
Eligible applicants are citizens aged 16 or older who have continuously resided in Wonju City for at least two years as of the announcement date and intend to purchase an electric bicycle from a retailer within the city.
The program will support a total of 100 bicycles, providing a subsidy of 50% of the purchase price per bicycle, up to a maximum of 300,000 won per unit. Only bicycles that use the PAS (pedal assist) system exclusively are eligible, and bicycles that use both PAS and throttle systems are not supported. In addition, the bicycle must be purchased after the applicant has been selected as a beneficiary in order to receive the subsidy.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis according to the order of application registration via the Wonju City integrated reservation platform starting March 3, 2026. For more details, applicants can contact the Road Administration Team of the Road Management Division or check the city website (Wonju News - Wonju City Announcements).
