K-pop's leading girl group BLACKPINK has set a new record in YouTube history. Marking the 10th anniversary of their debut, the group's official channel has become the first among artists worldwide to surpass 100 million subscribers.

View original imageAccording to their agency YG Entertainment and YouTube on the 21st, the BLACKPINK YouTube channel surpassed 100 million subscribers at around 7:31 p.m. the previous day. To celebrate this milestone, BLACKPINK shared congratulatory messages through social media.
The channel was launched on June 28, 2016, and reached 100 million subscribers in about 9 years and 8 months. In the process, a total of 50 pieces of content, including "DDU-DU DDU-DU" and "Kill This Love," each garnered over 100 million views. The channel's cumulative views amount to approximately 41.2 billion, and nine videos on the official channel have joined the "billion-view club."
Recently, the number of subscribers has surged in connection with promotional activities for their third mini album "DEADLINE," which is scheduled for release on the 27th. According to YG, since the release of the teaser video on January 15, about 10,000 new subscribers have joined the channel each day on average.

BLACKPINK had already become the first non-English-language artist to enter the top five most-subscribed YouTube channels in 2020, and in September 2021 they rose to No. 1 among all artists worldwide in subscriber count, a position they have maintained to this day. They are officially listed in the Guinness World Records in the United Kingdom as the "band with the most views on YouTube."
