Gyeongsan-si to Enhance Mobility Rights for Transportation-Vulnerable Residents and Pregnant Women... Full-Scale Operation of "Voucher Taxi and Call-Taxi for Pregnant Women" from March
Service for Non-Wheelchair Users with Severe Disabilities and Pregnant Women...Expected to Reduce Waiting Times
Pre-Registration Begins on the 23rd, Laying the Groundwork for a Customized Mobility Support System
On February 19, Gyeongsan-si (Mayor Cho Hyunil) announced that, starting in March, it will fully implement the "Transportation-Vulnerable Voucher Taxi and Call-Taxi for Pregnant Women" program to substantially improve mobility convenience for transportation-vulnerable residents and pregnant women.
Under this program, general commercial taxis will switch to voucher-only taxis when dispatched via a call and operate in that mode.

Gyeongsan-si plans to complete system construction and operator training within February, conduct a pilot operation, and then move to full-scale service from next month.
The service is available to non-wheelchair users with severe walking disabilities, as well as pregnant women from the date of pregnancy diagnosis until one year after childbirth, and 50 corporate and individual taxis within Gyeongsan-si will participate.
Operating hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day, and the service area covers all regions of Gyeongsan-si.
The base fare is 1,100 won for up to 5 km, with an additional 200 won per kilometer if the distance increases.
The user fare will not exceed 2,200 won, and the service can be used up to 4 times per day and 10 times per month.
To use this service, users must complete pre-registration.
Voucher call-taxis can be used after registering through the Gyeongsan-si Mobility Support Center and then calling the Gyeongbuk Metropolitan Mobility Support Center, while call-taxis for pregnant women can be registered and requested through the "K-Mom Taxi" app.
Once a call is received, a taxi will be dispatched and operated as a voucher taxi or call-taxi for pregnant women.
In addition, by separating the functions of special transportation services (Bureum Call) for wheelchair users with severe walking disabilities from this new program and operating them independently, it is expected that a customized mobility support system can be established that reflects the characteristics of each service target group.
However, duplicate registration and use of both the existing special transportation service and the Transportation-Vulnerable Voucher Taxi and Call-Taxi for Pregnant Women are not allowed.
An official from Gyeongsan-si stated, "We expect this program to bring about tangible improvements in mobility convenience for transportation-vulnerable residents," adding, "We also believe it will help create an environment in which pregnant women can travel with peace of mind."
