Lee Ufan’s Large-Scale “Dialogue” Included... 83 Works to Be Offered at K Auction’s February Sale
Approximately 9.2 Billion Won Worth of Works by Lee Ufan, Chun Kyungja and Others
To Be Held on the 27th at K Auction Headquarters in Sinsa-dong
K Auction announced on the 13th that it will hold its February auction at 4 p.m. on the 27th at its headquarters in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. A total of 83 works, worth approximately 9.2 billion won, will be put up for auction.
This auction will feature a wide variety of works, including Lee Ufan’s large-scale masterpieces “Dialogue” in size 300 and size 100, as well as ceramic and terracotta objets. The size 300 work, created in 2007, has an estimated price of between 1.35 billion and 2.4 billion won, and is considered an exceptionally large piece even among Lee Ufan’s works.
Works by leading artists in the global art market, such as Yayoi Kusama, Bernard Buffet, Gerhard Richter, and Yoshitomo Nara, will also be presented in large numbers. Kusama’s 1991 work “Pumpkin” is regarded as one of her representative pieces, having maintained stable demand among global collectors.
Masterpieces of modern Korean painting will also be featured in this auction. Works such as Do Sangbong’s “Lilac,” Chang Ucchin’s “Tree, Bird and Hat,” and Chun Kyungja’s “Woman” will be offered, and small works by Kim Whanki and Lee Jungseob have likewise been introduced as pieces that concisely encapsulate the artistic worlds of these masters.

A preview exhibition, where visitors can view the auction lots in advance, will be held at the K Auction exhibition hall from the 14th to the 27th. The exhibition hall will be open every day during the preview period, and admission is free. On the day of the auction, anyone can attend the sale in person, regardless of membership status.
