Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province has broken ground on the construction of a complex cultural facility at 400 Yeosu-dong, Jungwon-gu (along Seongnam-daero, across from City Hall).

View original imageOn the 12th, Seongnam City held the "Yeosu-dong Complex Cultural Facility Construction Groundbreaking Ceremony" at the construction site, with Seongnam Mayor Shin Sangjin, members of the National Assembly, provincial and city councilors, and about 100 local residents in attendance.
This complex cultural facility project is being promoted to expand the insufficient cultural and leisure infrastructure within the Yeosu District.
The city will invest a total project cost of 32.1 billion won to build a complex cultural facility with a total floor area of 7,420 square meters on a 1,660-square-meter site, consisting of three underground floors and four above-ground floors.
The interior of the facility will house a small library, a fitness classroom, a music room, a small theater, a multipurpose hall, and a drone experience room.
A parking lot with a total of 63 spaces will also be provided on the three underground floors.
The city will proceed with construction with the goal of completion by the end of next year, then carry out interior fit-out work and open the facility in the first half of 2028.

Prior to the groundbreaking ceremony, Seongnam City held a residents' briefing session on January 19 in the Moran Hall on the second floor of City Hall, where it shared the construction schedule and spatial layout plans for the complex cultural facility with local residents.
