Support for Live Home&Shopping Broadcasts

On February 12, the Korea Federation of SMEs (KBIZ) announced that it is recruiting participating companies for the "TV Home Shopping Market Entry Support Program for SMEs (Ilsacheonri Program)," which aims to support regional small and medium-sized enterprises in expanding their sales channels.

This program supports regional SMEs that produce excellent products but have difficulties securing distribution channels in entering TV home shopping. With the goals of diversifying sales channels, strengthening the competitiveness of regional products, and maintaining the domestic consumer goods manufacturing base, the program has been jointly operated by KBIZ and Home&Shopping since 2012.

Eligible applicants are manufacturing SMEs that have their headquarters or manufacturing plants in one of the 12 regions participating in the program. However, companies that do not manufacture directly and only engage in simple distribution, as well as companies that have received support within the past two years, are excluded.

The application period differs by region. Companies wishing to participate must complete the application form on the KBIZ website and submit it online within the regional application deadline.

Companies selected for TV broadcasting slots will be chosen through document screening, consultations with TV home shopping merchandisers, and deliberation by a selection committee. Products from the selected companies are scheduled to be broadcast on the Home&Shopping channel from April to December this year.

Selected companies will receive one 50-minute live broadcast opportunity on Home&Shopping and support for broadcasting production costs. However, in some regions, a portion of the costs may need to be borne by the companies themselves.

Details regarding the application can be found under the "Support Programs" menu, in the "TV Home Shopping Market Entry" and "Ilsacheonri" sections, on the KBIZ website.

Yang Chanhoe, Head of the Innovation Growth Division at KBIZ, said, "The Ilsacheonri Program goes beyond simple financial support. It is meaningful in that it helps SMEs directly experience the entire home shopping distribution process and assess and enhance the market competitiveness of their products," adding, "We look forward to strong interest and active participation from regional SMEs that produce excellent products."
