Offered to 40,000 Cafeteria Customers
To celebrate the Lunar New Year, Samsung Welstory is collaborating with Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corp. (KOMSCO) to offer a limited-edition dessert package in the shape of a gold bar, called "Gold Bite," at its cafeterias, wishing customers wealth and good fortune.
Samsung Welstory announced on the 12th that, in celebration of Seollal, the first holiday of the year, it will offer the limited-edition Gold Bite dessert package, which incorporates the symbolism of KOMSCO, to about 40,000 customers at more than 160 cafeterias nationwide through the 13th.
Samsung Welstory, which has been leading cafeteria collaboration trends through partnerships with celebrity chefs and globally renowned restaurants, plans to further expand collaboration beyond food and beverages into other industries, thereby providing customers with an even more differentiated experience.
Gold Bite comes in a golden package shaped like a gold bar and is produced with a "financier" cake and a "good fortune card" made from by-products of 50,000-won banknotes packaged together.
Financier is a representative French dessert whose name originates from the word "financier" in the financial district, and to embody the core concept of this collaboration, "A Bite That Brings Good Luck," it is topped with sweet pumpkin streusel to create a visual effect as if gold dust has been sprinkled on top.
During the period when Gold Bite is offered, cafeterias will also serve "Lunar New Year good fortune recommended menus" such as dried pollack rice cake dumpling soup with coin-shaped rice cakes, lucky pouch wonton noodles, and golden karaage curry to enhance the holiday atmosphere.
