Federation Chairman Noh Inspects Distribution Trends at Noryangjin Fish Market
The National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives announced on the 10th that, to stabilize prices during the Lunar New Year holidays, it will supply government-reserved seafood to offline markets at up to half the usual price, and offer discounts of up to 60% on major seasonal items online.

View original imageThe National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives plans to supply 13,000 tons of government-reserved seafood, including mackerel and yellow croaker, which is 2,000 tons more than last Lunar New Year, to traditional markets, supermarkets, and wholesale markets at prices discounted by up to 50% compared to market prices, through the 15th.
On this day, Chairman Noh personally purchased government-reserved and ritual-use seafood and checked on on-site price trends. After visiting the Onnuri Gift Certificate refund booth set up in the market and inspecting its operations, he also urged citizens to actively participate in consuming seafood.
The Seoul Noryangjin Fish Market is holding an event through the 14th, under which customers who purchase seafood on the same day can receive a refund of up to 30% (up to 20,000 won per person) in Onnuri Gift Certificates.
The National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives is also holding a "Lunar New Year Special Exhibition" on its online mall, Suhyup Shopping, through the 22nd, offering seafood at reasonable prices. Through this event, customers can purchase a variety of domestically produced seafood such as abalone, red tilefish, cutlassfish, freshwater eel, and dried yellow croaker using 20% discount coupons (up to 20,000 won) that are issued weekly. When combined with Suhyup Shopping’s own discounts, the "Wando Live Abalone Large Value Gift Set (12 to 14 pieces, 2 kg)" can be purchased at a discount of up to 60%. In addition, products such as the "Jeju Premium Extra-Large Red Tilefish (3 fish)," the "Jeju Premium Large Cutlassfish Set," and the "Seorakman Japonica Freshwater Eel Gift Set (2 kg)" are being sold at discounts in the 40% range.
