View original imageThis donation was made to support the nurturing of local talent in line with former Chairman Gu's belief that "education is the future of Gwangju." Mayor Bang Sehwan and Lee Wonbeom, chairman of the Gwangju Citizens Scholarship Foundation, attended the donation ceremony.
The donated funds will be used by the Gwangju Citizens Scholarship Foundation for scholarship programs targeting outstanding students and students from low-income families in the Gwangju area.
Former Chairman Gu said, "Through my legislative activities, I have seen the potential of local youth," adding, "I hope this will help students focus on their studies regardless of their economic circumstances and grow into talented individuals who will lead the community and society."
Mayor Bang Sehwan and Chairman Lee Wonbeom said, "We are grateful for this meaningful donation for the development of local education," and added, "We will manage this scholarship fund in a transparent and efficient manner so that it can provide practical help to students."
