Phase 1 Scheduled for Completion in the First Half of This Year
Guri City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyunghyun) announced that on February 3, it visited the area near Donggureung, the site of the ongoing Donggureung Historical Street Development Project, to inspect the progress of the project and listen to citizens' opinions.

View original imageDuring this on-site visit, officials from the Road Division of Guri City Hall and project stakeholders attended to review the overall plans for the Donggureung Historical Street development section and to check the status of major construction processes and the future implementation schedule.
The Donggureung Historical Street Development Project is being promoted with the goal of utilizing the historical and cultural resources of Donggureung to create a distinctive street space that provides residents with a pleasant pedestrian environment and informs visitors of the area's historical value. Currently, key processes that can highlight Donggureung's historical culture, such as granite slab paving and the installation of specialized streetlights, are proceeding as planned, focusing on the section from Donggureung Station to Dongchanggyo Bridge.
Through the on-site inspection, Baek Kyunghyun, mayor of Guri, shared various opinions with officials on securing pedestrian safety, minimizing inconvenience caused by construction, and ensuring smooth project implementation. He stated, "Through this on-site visit, I was able to directly confirm the status of the project and hear the voices from the field," adding, "We will do our utmost in promoting the project so that the Donggureung Historical Street Development Project can be completed as a landmark that reflects the identity of the region."
