"Any Open Positions?" Female Student Hands Resume Directly to President... Hired for Being "Very Well-Prepared"
A single bold remark at the event leads to a 5?6 month internship
Interviewed and accepted just a month after handing Macron her resume
The bold attempt of a university student who directly asked the President of France for an internship at a public event has turned into a real opportunity. On the 3rd, Yonhap News, citing the French daily Le Parisien, reported that a female student enrolled at Sciences Po (Paris Institute of Political Studies) recently received a notification that she would be able to do a five- to six-month internship at the Élysée Palace, the office of the French president.

She promoted herself by explaining that she had worked on presidential-related affairs at the French Chamber of Commerce during President Macron's visit to Morocco in 2024.
In response, President Macron smiled and asked, "Do you have a resume?" and the student handed over documents she had prepared in advance. When the president commented that she was "very well-prepared," she replied, "I have thought of everything." The scene spread across social networking services (SNS) at the time and drew significant attention. About a month later, the student actually went through an interview, and she was recently informed that she would be able to intern with the economic team at the Élysée Palace. She said she is "currently just waiting for the contract" and could not hide her joy.

The student said, "Coming from a remote rural area and growing up in a financially struggling family, the Élysée Palace was never an obvious career option for me," adding, "This opportunity has a very symbolic meaning for me." However, she also made it clear that she does not want her case to lead to indiscriminate imitation. She said, "I never imagined this video would become such a big topic," and, half-jokingly, expressed concern by adding, "I hope we will not see people grabbing the president with resumes in their hands every time he moves around."
