[Weather] Persistent Severe Cold... Subzero Temperatures in the Metropolitan Area Even During the Day
On Tuesday, the 27th, it will remain extremely cold due to the influence of cold air descending from the north. Daytime temperatures are forecast to range from -3 to 8 degrees Celsius, which is lower than the average for this time of year (1 to 8 degrees Celsius). In the metropolitan area and other central regions, subzero temperatures will persist even during the day. Cold wave advisories have been issued for inland northern Gyeonggi Province, mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, and mountainous regions of North Gyeongsang Province. Strong winds will make the perceived temperature even lower.

The air is extremely dry and the winds are strong, so extra caution is needed to prevent fires.
The metropolitan area and Gangwon Province will be mostly clear. The Chungcheong region, southern provinces, and Jeju Island will be mostly cloudy, but conditions will gradually clear from the afternoon. Until the morning, inland areas of Chungcheong, the Jeolla region, and Jeju Island may experience less than 0.1 cm of snow flurries or less than 0.1 mm of raindrops. Extra caution is advised for icy roads and black ice.
As of 5 a.m. on this day, temperatures in major cities were as follows: Seoul -6.3 degrees Celsius, Incheon -5.2 degrees, Suwon -5.8 degrees, Chuncheon -11.1 degrees, Gangneung -2.1 degrees, Cheongju -3.3 degrees, Daejeon -2.3 degrees, Jeonju -3.4 degrees, Gwangju -0.5 degrees, Jeju 5.4 degrees, Daegu -0.1 degrees, Busan -0.1 degrees, Ulsan -0.4 degrees, and Changwon -0.4 degrees.
Fine dust concentrations are expected to remain at 'good' to 'moderate' levels nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion. However, the metropolitan area and Yeongseo region of Gangwon Province may temporarily experience 'poor' levels in the morning.
