[Weather] Rain and Snow Across the Country... Beware of Icy Roads
On Thursday, the 15th, rain is expected in many parts of the country, with some areas in Gangwon Province and the Gyeongsang region likely to see snow.

View original imageAccording to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the expected precipitation is around 5 mm for the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, less than 5 mm for the east coast of Gangwon, the Chungcheong region (excluding central and southern North Chungcheong), the Jeolla region, the Gyeongsang region (excluding Daegu and southern inland North Gyeongsang), and Jeju Island, and around 1 mm for eastern Gyeonggi, central and southern North Chungcheong, Daegu, and southern inland North Gyeongsang. The expected snowfall is 1 to 5 cm for the mountainous areas of Gangwon, and 1 cm for inland Gangwon and the northeastern mountainous areas of North Gyeongsang.
As of 5 a.m., the temperatures in major cities are as follows: Seoul 2.5°C, Incheon 3.5°C, Suwon 2.5°C, Chuncheon -2.9°C, Gangneung 2.4°C, Cheongju 2.2°C, Daejeon 3.3°C, Jeonju 12.2°C, Gwangju 7.4°C, Jeju 15.0°C, Daegu 0.6°C, Busan 11.1°C, Ulsan 7.1°C, and Changwon 4.9°C. The daytime high temperatures are forecast to range from 5°C to 17°C.
The fine dust concentration is expected to be 'bad' in the Seoul metropolitan area, the western part of Gangwon, the Chungcheong region, Gwangju, and North Jeolla, and 'moderate' in other regions.

Wave heights at sea are expected to range from 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the near seas off the east and south coasts, and from 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the near seas off the west coast. In the offshore areas (up to about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 1.5 to 4.0 meters in the East Sea and 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the West Sea and South Sea.
